An itinerary that leads to the historical center of Lagonegro, starting from the Mother Church (SS Trinità) situated at the entrance of the village, you reach the church of San Nicola in the castle. A journey to the rediscovery of the Lagonegro’s lost history where the churches that you will encounter along the pleasant path were often brotherhoods headquarters, sometimes very important and powerful, that today are able to narrate many land-related traditions and legends.

The itinerary is characterized by the story of the past presence of hospitals which hosted pilgrims and travelers (Cresci, San Pietro, SS TrinitĂ , San Giovanni and others).

Along the way, before reaching the walls of the inhabited area, there are numerous small streets that radiate throughout the historical center, dotted with churches and chapels, some of great value such as that of the Rosary. The mother church of St. Nicola, the point of arrival of the urban hiking and the museum’s headquarters, is the fulcrum of the castle area, interesting is the medieval core characterized by helical routes, steep stairs and narrow passages.
