The route runs through the old town  of Maratea, crossing the historical periods in a journey back in time, from the present day to the origins of the settlement. A pleasant walk through the artistic treasures of the “city of the 44 churches”, along a path that varies between squares, evocative alleys, avenues and steps.

Among the main churches that you are going to encounter stands the bell tower of the Church of S. Maria Maggiore, perched in the inner part; the Church of the Annunciation on the avenue that links the square to the area of Piazza Buraglia to the town hall; the Immaculate which acquired priceless value following the discovery of an underground crypt containing a mostly excellent-preserved fresco of the apostles.
