Nobody who is in the basin of Maratea can avoid climbing to the statue of the Redeemer, as if every element of the landscape converges towards that point. Two lines materialize this convergence: the two ridge lines that from west and north rise up to the summit, directly at the foot of the large statue. For climbers and hiking-lovers, these can be undoubtedly two strong elements of attraction. An opportunity that could not go unnoticed to the eyes of local fans. It is a highly spectacular route of great charm that can become a top-of-the-field for enthusiasts. However it is an itinerary suggested for people in good physical shape and accustomed to climbing, even with the supporting of a guide. Other than this, the north ridge that rises on the side of the town of Maratea can be enjoyed too, thanks to its equipped path that, despite requiring the use of safety gear, it poses no technical difficulty.
