Lake Laudemio – Port of Maratea

Being able to reach from the coast of Maratea the 1500 meters of the Rifugio Italia in just over 1 hour by car and then dive into a long descent on two wheels to the sea, crossing different landscapes at every turn, cycling through all the towns of Valle del Noce , along paths and mule tracks, is an opportunity that bikers shall not  miss and especially it’s suitable for many people. The route, about 56km long, starts at Lago Laudemio, reaches Masseria Franchini through dirt roads and then goes down to loc. Cannavate along the Vallone Finieri, from here rises to Madonna del Brusco, and reaches the Sirino Lake through loc. Taggine. Along the route of the  Ferrovie Calabro-Lucane (Railway  system) reaches Pecorone and then Lauria.

From here it goes down along the Caffaro river to the bottom of the Noce valley in loc. Fornaci then it goes up back to Trecchina and then along the Vallone di Ponte Scala it goes down towards Brefaro and Maratea. The last stretch leads to the Port of Maratea.
